How sex dolls work
A doll is a soft skin cast over a jointed metal frame, and every handling tip follows from that.
A posable frame inside soft skin. A realistic doll has a metal skeleton with movable joints inside a silicone or TPE body. It holds the poses you set, while you do the lifting and steadying, since it cannot balance on its own. Treat the skin kindly around heat and dye, and it stays smooth. Choosing the doll itself is covered in the main Tayu Doll guide; this page starts once it arrives.
Unboxing and first setup
Clear some floor space before you open the box, and the first hour goes smoothly.
Open the box where it lies
Keep the box flat and open it in place. Cut the tape with a shallow blade, lift the foam lid and support the head as you take the doll out.
Check the contents
Look for the wig, any removable parts, a cleaning tool and the manual. Photograph any damage before you move anything, so the store has what it needs.
Lift with two hands
Slide one arm under the upper back and shoulders and the other under the hips and thighs, keep the doll close and bend your knees. Hold the body itself, leaving the arms, fingers, neck and wig free.
Wash before first use
New dolls often carry factory oil or residue. A gentle first wash with mild soap and lukewarm water removes it, and the doll is ready.
Choose its spot
Decide where the doll will rest between uses before you need it. Our storage guide compares cases, hooks and stands.
Lifting and moving safely
A full-size doll often weighs 25–45 kg (55–100 lb) and cannot balance, so a little planning saves your back.
- Lift with your legs. Keep the doll close to your body and turn with your feet. A limp weight puts more load on the lower back than a person who helps, so let your legs do the work.
- Move it in stages. Sit the doll on the edge of a bed or chair first, then lift again from there. Two short lifts are easier on your body than one long carry.
- Use a hand truck for long trips. Moving between rooms or floors is easier with a dolly or a padded hand truck than in your arms.
- Choose a lighter build. A torso cuts the weight sharply, and some full-size dolls use a foam-core body to save a few kilograms. The weight line in the spec tells you which is which.
Posing and dressing within skeleton limits
Joints bend like human ones over a shorter range. Work within it and the skin and skeleton stay intact.
- Stop at resistance. Move each limb until the joint starts to resist, then hold the pose there. Moderate angles at the hips and shoulders keep the skin around them free of tears.
- Support the weight while posing. Hold the limb above and below the joint as you move it, and pose the doll lying or seated rather than standing whenever you can.
- Treat fingers gently. Fingers usually have thin wires inside. Bend them slowly and stop short of a full curl to protect the wires.
- Give standing some support. Some dolls have standing feet with bolts, and even then a wall, furniture or a stand keeps them upright safely.
- Dress from the feet up. Stretchy, light-colored clothes go on easiest. Wash dark or new fabrics first so no dye reaches the skin.
How to warm up a sex doll safely
Silicone and TPE sit at room temperature. Warming is optional and adds a lifelike touch. A sex doll warmer, built-in heating, a blanket or a warm room all work, and low, even heat keeps TPE safe.
| Method | How it works | Good practice |
|---|---|---|
| Heated sex doll | Built-in heating wires, usually charged by USB | Follow the time limit in the manual; keep the port dry |
| Sex doll warmer | A USB warmer, used as its instructions describe | Remove it before use and stay nearby while it heats |
| Electric blanket | Wrap the doll on a low setting | Low heat only, with a cotton sheet between |
| Warm room | Raise the room temperature beforehand | Keep the doll a safe distance from radiators and heaters |
Prep and cleanup routine
The same short routine each time keeps the skin and skeleton in shape.
Prepare the surface
Lay a clean towel where the doll will sit or lie, so the skin and your furniture stay free of dye transfer.
Check the joints
Before posing, move each joint gently through its range. Spot a stiff or loose joint early and you can raise it with the store while it is a small fix.
Clean straight after
Rinse, wash with mild soap and dry the doll the same day. Full steps for silicone and TPE are in our care guide.
Return it to storage
Once fully dry and powdered, put the doll back in its case, on its hook or under a cover.
